Hawaii National Guard Youth Challenge Academy!

The Academy stand to provide 16 to 19 year-old "Non-Traditional - At Risk" Young Men and Young Women, ready to move forward, with Life Skills, to be successful and responsible Citizens within their Communities, while working towards their high school diplomas.  Administered by the Hawaii National Guard since its inception in August 1994, ChalleNGe has graduated twenty-eight classes totaling almost 3000 students (as of June 2008). Currently, 89% of the Cadets that completed the program have earned their high school diploma.

Four things set Hawaii's Youth ChalleNGe Academy apart from other programs serving "at-risk" youth. 

• 22 Weeks of Quasi-Military Environment that instills discipline and self worth, establishing an effective learning environment;
  
• Strategic Support Infrastructure designed to transform a holistic responsible citizen; 
• 52-Weeks Post-Residential Phase, equipped with a Cadet Action Plan and a Mentor;. 
• Parent to Parent Training to prepare, support, and encourage Cadet growth and success.
