    National Day of Prayer Program

    Lincoln's Challenge Academy observed the National Day of Prayer with the Cadet Chaplains hosting the program.  CDT Spain of Team 1 was the Master of Cermonies.  The program opened with the National Anthem by selected cadets of Team 6.  Cdt Norris of Team 1 gave the invocation and CDT Spain introduced the official party.  CDT Gomez of Team 9 and CDT Norris of Team 1 read their poems that they wrote for this occasion, CDT Williams of Team 5 read the National Day Prayer.  Reverend Winfrey was the keynote speaker and the choir, Voices of Challenge, s

    A Mother's Day message from Director Thomas

    A very Happy Mother's Day wish!    The cadets are looking forward to the last corp break of the class.  Please check with your cadet to make sure that they complete all task assigned to them during this break.  Your cadet will arrive home on May 8 and return back to the Academy on May 11.  Please make sure that they are on time to catch the bus on May 11.  The cadets are looking forward to graduation on June 13, 2009 at the Prairie Captial Convention Center in Springfield, IL. and I look forward to shaking each cadets hand and joining in with the

    LCA State Advisory Council Meeting

    The next scheduled LCA State Advisory Council meeting will be held on 26 May 2009 at 10:00 AM at the Lincoln's Challenge Academy, 205 Dodge Ave, Rantoul, IL.

    LCA part of the U S Chamber of Commerce National Conference

    The Lincoln's Challenge Academy Color Guard will post the colors at the U S Chamber of Commerce National Conference to be held in Chicago from 3-5 May 2009.  Three graduates, David Ortiz-Class 27, Andres Hernandez-Class 12, and Eric Bogan-Class 19, have been asked to speak at this event on how the Academy changed their lives.  The Academy will also have a booth set up, manned by cadets, who will be available to answer questions.   We want to thank the US Chamber of Commerce for providing our cadets with this opportunity.  A special thanks goes ou

    Challenge the Youth of Today, Inc

    The Challenge the Youth of Today, Inc was formed to support the academy.  Membership is open to anyone interested in assisting the Academy and is a way of showing your support of Lincoln's Challenge Academy.  The next scheduled meeting will be held on 20 May 2009 at 6:30 PM at the Lincoln's Challenge Academy at 205 Dodge Ave, Rantoul, IL 61866.  For more information on the this support group, contact Mr. Burton at 502-759-1906 or the Academy at 217-892-1314.

    Happy Birthday Cadets!

    On 28 April 2009, the Academy held its monthly Cadet Birthday Party for cadets whose birthdays were in April.  They celebrated with cake and ice cream.  Happy Birthday Cadets!

    LCA Ethnic Day Program-Days of Remebrance-The Holocaust

    On 28 April 2009, the Academy held its Ethnic Day Program, Days of Remembrance, The Holocaust.

    LCA Memorial Day Program

    The Lincoln's Challenge Academy's Memorial Day Program will take place at the LCA Memorial Site (205 Dodge Ave, Rantoul, IL) on 25 May 2009 at 4:00 PM.  This program is to remember those staff, cadets, and those that have lost their lives in war.  This event is open to the public.  We ask that if anyone knows of a cadet that has passed away, to contact Ms Schoonover at 217-892-1314. 

    Visitation for teams 1, 3, 5, and 9

    Visitation for teams 1, 3, 5, and 9 will be on 3 May 2009.  Visitation is from 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM.  To sign out your cadet for visitation you first must be on the Authorizied Visitation Form on file with LCA.  Due to the limited space we ask that only one person come into the building to sign out your cadet.  Again this person must be on the visitation form and have a valid ID.  Cadets must wear their uniform properly at all times while on visitation and female cadets must keep their hair up and within standards.  There are numerous staff out and abou

    Mentor and Cadet weekly contact

    The cadets are in week 14 of the Residential Phase of the Academy and beginning this week the cadets are required to make weekly contact with their mentor.  This can be by phone, letter, or face-to-face.  The mentors are then required to begin their monthly requirements by reporting these residential contacts in the Data Management and Reporting System.  If mentors are having difficulty reporting or have questions, please contact the Mentor Coordinator at 217-892-1334 or the RPM Supervisor at 217-892-1307.

    IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM DIRECTOR THOMAS

    Each cadet was required to bring back with them from the last Corp Break, job applications and comply with PRAP requirements.  If they failed to do so they will need to complete this during the next Corp Break. 

    This is a very important graduation requirement and is vital to the success of your cadet.
