Cadets must successfully complete all eight core components to graduate from the Academy. The core components are designed to educate and help produce youth who will become productive members of their communities upon graduation.

Following are the eight core components:

    Activities and Training

    Activities and Training

The NJ Youth ChalleNGe Academy is exactly that, a challenge. It is not an easy path, but it can be made easier if you enter with a positive attitude and a strong will to learn. If you are not accustomed to physical training, it is recommended that you begin some sort of physical regime before you come to the academy to help ease your transition.

    Curriculum

    Academic Curriculum

The NJ Youth ChalleNGe Academy offers a course of study to include Math, Science, Reading, English, History, Computer Applications, and Life-Coping Skills. After completing the courses, the cadets take the GED test. If they pass the exam they will receive a New Jersey State High School Diploma after completion of the five month residential phase. In 2011, the average cadet achieved a 2.6  grade increase in reading and a 2.9 grade increase in mathematics.
